"I didn't say I'd go with him out of pitty, Ron! I said I'd go with him because he's a really nice person and I enjoy his company!" - Libby to Ron Weasley about going to the Yule Ball with Neville Longbottom.

Liberty "Libby" Lucine Longbottom (née Lupin) (b. 1st August 1980) is the eldest child and only daughter of Remus Lupin and Sophia Barnes. She is a half-blood witch and is the half-sister of Teddy Lupin and the step-daughter of Nymphadora Tonks. She was the god-daughter of James and Lily Potter.

Due to her mother's death in the first Wizarding War, Libby was raised primarily by her father. However, because of his condition, once a month Libby stayed with her maternal grandparents.

Libby started to attend Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry in 1991 and was sorted into Gryffindor house. She became friends with fellow Gryffindor's Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, Neville Longbottom, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger. She also became close friends with Ravenclaw Samuel Black. Libby was often teased by Pansy Parkinson about being a tomboy and hanging out more with boys that girls.

Libby was an important member of Dumbledore's Army and fought in the Battle Of The Department Of Mysteries, The Battle Of The Astronomy Tower and the Battle Of Hogwarts. She helped Neville Longbottom to reform the D.A. in 1997 and also passed on information about what was going on in Hogwarts to the Order Of The Pheonix.

Sometime after the Battle Of Hogwarts, Libby married Neville and became the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron. She and Neville then had four children; Francis, Alison, Sophie and Remy - all of their children have versions of their grandparents names.
